Everything I wrote in July

July was a month of ups and downs. The best news was being shortlisted as Online Communicator of the Year in the Louis Roederer Wine Writing Awards, and there was plenty of other writing activity. The low point was my wife’s encounter with Dengue fever - but she has now almost fully recovered, and we are looking forward to getting back up to full speed from now on.

Here’s everything I wrote in July 2020.

• On JancisRobinson.com, I wrote:

  • The most-read article of the month (always pleasing!), about finding new red wine to love (subscription needed)

  • Not one, not two, but three wines as my wine of the week: all Chenin Blancs from South Africa, who really need our support (free to read)

  • My monthly column documents how Singapore is reopening post lockdown (free to read)

  • Plus seven tasting notes as part of a larger roundup of rosés (subscription required)

• In Drinks Retailing News, my regular column - now on its own full page - address the #BlackLivesMatter movement (you can read it in the digital edition).

• I joined up-and-coming wine communicator Joshua Dunning, aka Word On The Grapevine, for an Instagram Live chat about earning money from wine writing
