New series of A Glass With ... released today

Series seven of the podcast that I produce with Olly Smith launched today, and you can listen now via Spotify, Apple Podcasts and all good podcast platforms, as well as on the website itself.

We’ve now released 46 episodes since we launched in March 2017. Along the way, we’ve recorded some brilliant guests including some pretty famous names, including P!nk, Sting and Trudie, Dawn French, Sir Michael Parkinson, Miriam Margolyes and many more. How many do you recognise?

We never had a long-term plan, except to release episodes on a seasonal basis rather than every week. Since the very first episode, we have been able to secure enough sponsorship to make the podcast sustainable (for example, series seven is exclusively sponsored by Babylonstoren Mourvèdre Rosé).

The format for A Glass With … is simple: Olly and a guest share a glass of wine (or any other drink) of the guest’s choosing. They have a conversation for as long as it takes to finish the glass (and sometimes a second!) and at the end, Olly gives the guest a bottle of wine from his cellar. Some of the conversations have a strong focus on wine and other drinks, whereas others are more general - it’s a really good mix, and if you’ve never listened to the show, you can listen to the episodes in any order you like.

For the seventh series, we had to record remotely, using an online audio service called CleanFeed. However, the basic format stayed the same, and it worked surprisingly well over the airwaves. Check out series seven here - and let me know what you think.
