I recently came across three television adverts all made for Codorniu, the large cava producer. The first dates from 1980, the second from 1989 and the third is new this year. The wine trade is often criticised for not being very good at communicating with its customers, so it's interesting to see these three examples of mainstream advertising.
It shows not only how advertising has changed, but also how wine as a product evolves over time. Stylistically, they are all very much of their era. The question is: are they any good? That's a genuine question - let me know what you think.
